An informative issue of a rare African-American weekly newspaper produced in Jim Crow Arizona. The newspaper was edited and published by Doc F. Benson, a notable leader of the local NAACP chapter and a member of the state House of Representatives in Arizona. This particular issue was produced on March 2, 1951, and contains stories about labor issues with the C.I.O., the awarding of a Silver Star to a local World War II veteran, society news, the indictment of W. E. B. Du Bois in connection with the Peace Information Center, and more.
