Second edition of this scarce but substantial devotional work for the worship of Jesus' father, Joseph, compiled by two Jesuit priests and printed at the Real y Màs Antiguo Colegio de San Ildefonso. The first section comprises a long essay on the importance and the various manners for the veneration of Joseph; it concludes with several specific prayers and instructions for proper devotion. The second part contains a detailed, prescribed set of prayers, exercises, thoughts, and orations for a full and dedicated week of veneration. OCLC traces four examples of this edition, at the University of New Mexico, NYPL, the JCB, and the National Library of Chile (Medina's copy); we find only one copy of the 1732 Hogal edition, also from Medina's collection. An interesting copy that carries three contemporary marcas de fuego on its vellum wrappers, two of Jesuit origin and one that is composed of a cypher-like monogram "MA" topped with a crown.
