A rare program printing the schedule of events for the "First Annual Banquet" of the Neighborhood Advisory Councils of Caddo Parish, Louisiana. The present work prints the banquet information on the first page, but the remainder of the text is comprised of advertisements for local businesses, churches, and more, along with well wishes from politicians, community leaders, business owners, and others. As such, the work is tantamount to an African-American directory of Shreveport in 1975. Neighborhood Advisory Councils were and are just what they sound like -- organizations comprised of local leaders who serve to advocate for the citizens, usually low-income citizens, in their neighborhoods. We could no locate any other copies in OCLC.
