The founding governing documents for the Alabama Football Officials Association (AFOA) in Birmingham, codifying the organization's constitution and by-laws for officiating the game at the high school level. The organization was formed "in the interests of better football in this district" as "the coaches realize that football officiating could be and should be improved; new officials must be trained and encouraged; uniform interpretations and rulings should be adopted." Ultimately, "the purpose of this organization shall be the promotion of the game of football in Alabama." The AFOA was comprised of a combination of Birmingham businessmen and high school administrators. We could locate no other copies of this work nor anything else issued by the Alabama Football Officials Association.
