An elegant promotional for the grand city of Tuscaloosa, Alabama produced by the Tuskaloosa Coal, Iron & Land Company and including a prospectus for the company. The text includes the expected promotional passages about Tuscaloosa's commercial, natural, and cultural advantages, its importance to the cotton industry, as a manufacturer of bricks, agricultural implements, wagons, furniture, and more, as well as its affordability, retail and jobbing opportunities, and so forth. An eight page section in the middle prints the aforementioned prospectus of the Tuskaloosa Coal, Iron & Land Company, followed by an Appendix printing a six-page history of Tuscaloosa. The text is interspersed throughout with lithographs or engravings reproducing photographs. The folding map is entitled, "Birds' Eye View of Leading Routes to Tuscaloosa Ala." Only eight institutional holdings in OCLC.
