An interesting entry into the pantheon of early Spanish-language imprints produced in the United States. The work is a translation into Spanish of Alexander Hill Everett's America: A General Survey of the Political Situation of the Several Powers of the Western Continent, published the year before. The work examines the emerging geopolitical order and the future of said order following the independence of the United States and some Latin American republics following their break from Spain. The work was produced in Spanish in Northampton, Massachusetts by prolific local publisher Simeon Butler for reasons unknown, perhaps simply a moment of opportunism, as Everett's work was influential around the time of publication, and was translated into other languages as well..
