A useful guide to Big D in the early-1920s. An Introductory Note is followed by passages touting various aspects of life in Dallas in alphabetical order, from "Amusements" to "Wholesale and Jobbing."  Other notable subjects describe Dallas as a notable center for agriculture, the cotton market, foreign corporations, fire protection, insurance, labor, music & art, newspapers and publishing, oil, the State Fair of Texas, trade, and so forth. Regarding trade, the Chamber of Commerce city promotes Dallas as "one of the principal gateways to commerce with Mexico."  The text is illustrated with numerous monotone photographs of notable buildings in Dallas, including the "Facade of Southern Methodist University," schools, Dallas Public Library, the entrance to the State Fair of Texas, and more. The centerfold of the work is a two-page aerial view of downtown Dallas with an inset of the same location in 1873, highlighting the growth and development of the city over fifty years. OCLC indicates just four institutional copies, at SMU, Dallas Public Library,  Baylor, and Oberlin College.
