A useful guide to the great city of Dallas at the outset of the Roaring Twenties. An Introductory Note is followed by passages touting various aspects of life in Dallas in alphabetical order, from "Amusements" to "Wholesale and Jobbing." Other notable subjects describe Dallas as a notable center for agriculture, the cotton market, foreign corporations, labor, music & art, newspapers and publishing, the State Fair of Texas, trade, and so forth. Interestingly, regarding the latter, the city promotes itself as "the principal gateway to Mexican commerce." The text is illustrated with numerous monotone photographs of notable buildings in Dallas, including the "Facade of Southern Methodist University," the Dallas Federal Reserve, Dallas Public Library, various country clubs, and more. OCLC indicates just two institutional copies, at SMU and the University of Texas at Austin.
